Renault Factory in Morocco Foils $300,000 Auto Parts Theft Scheme

Customs and Royal Gendarmerie elements thwarted an operation to divert spare parts from the Renault factory in Tangier. 3 million dirhams worth of goods were seized on Saturday evening on board a truck.
Two individuals, who wanted to pass the goods through a back door of the factory, were arrested during the operation, reports Alyaoum24. According to information gathered by the investigators, the lot of spare parts was intended for resale.
For now, and pending the results of the investigation conducted by the police services, no statement has been made by the management of the Renault factory in Tangier.
On October 6, 26 individuals were prosecuted in pre-trial detention, for thefts of spare parts at the Renault-Nissan factory in Tangier. Employees and fences are involved in the case.
