Reckless Driver Strikes Policeman at Casablanca Checkpoint, Flees Scene

The video of a policeman knocked down by a reckless driver in Casablanca has been circulating on social media since Friday. Refusing to stop at a checkpoint, a motorist hit a traffic officer, before fleeing.
According to the General Directorate of National Security, this is a case of serious assault, which was dealt with on Tuesday, December 15, by the judicial police services of Moulay Rachid. The individual was prosecuted for deliberate assault, failure to comply and lack of insurance.
The investigators did not take long to identify the accused, the same source indicates, specifying that the individual was arrested and taken into custody the same day, before being brought before the public prosecutor’s office.
The DGSN also specifies that the hospitalization costs of the policeman, who "showed selflessness and sacrifice in the performance of his duties", will be fully covered.
