Real Madrid’s Brahim Diaz Rumored for Morocco National Team Call-Up

While the Spanish-Moroccan attacking midfielder of Real Madrid Brahim Diaz remains reluctant to choose Morocco or Spain as his sporting nationality, reports indicate that he would be among the players selected by Walid Regragui for the Atlas Lions’ friendly matches.
Is Brahim Diaz on the Moroccan national team’s list that will play against Angola on Friday, March 22, before facing Mauritania on Tuesday, March 26 at the Grand Stade d’Agadir during the next international break? "So far, national coach Walid Regragui has not yet submitted the preliminary list of the Atlas Lions that he must send to the clubs on March 3, so it is not possible to discuss the presence or absence of Diaz in a list that has not yet been published," assured a source from the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) to Alyaoum24.
Born on August 3, 1999 in Malaga to a mother from that city, Patricia Díaz, and a father of Moroccan origin from Melilla, Sufiel Abdelkader Mohand, Brahim holds Spanish and Moroccan nationalities. He started his international career in the Spanish youth categories, but has not had the opportunity to play for the senior team. He notably participated in the 2016 European Under-17 Championship organized in Azerbaijan. The Spanish-Moroccan attacking midfielder has never defended the Moroccan flag. So far, he remains undecided about the choice of his sporting nationality. He says he remains focused on his club for the moment.
