Real Estate Scam in Essaouira Defrauds 200 Civil Servants of Home Ownership Dreams

It has been more than 12 years that they have been waiting, without their dream of acquiring an apartment and becoming homeowners ever coming true, because it is a big case of embezzlement caused by the commercial director of a real estate company. Placed in detention this Monday, June 15, the accused simply pocketed the money from the civil servants constituted in an association. Tired of waiting, the victims ended up filing a complaint and the authorities reacted.

According to Al Akhbar, a thorough investigation revealed that it is a project in Essaouira, initiated by a company domiciled in the economic capital, whose objective was to deceive the vigilance of the clients. To recall, the project had been launched in 2009 and was to be completed within a period of two years. For its realization, the promoters had benefited from many facilities from the authorities. But the company has disappeared and the clients have nothing left but their eyes to cry.
