Walid Georgey, alias Maes, remains behind bars awaiting the next stage of proceedings. The artist, who was then residing in Dubai, was arrested at Casablanca airport upon disembarking from a private jet, subject to a search warrant. Magistrates accuse him of orchestrating a punitive expedition against an acquaintance with whom he was in dispute over money from concerts. To satisfy his revenge, he allegedly hired the leader of a Fès gang to kidnap and torture his rival in Marrakech. This ambush was ultimately narrowly thwarted by law enforcement, who caught the commando in the act of intercepting the victim.

In total, ten other defendants are involved in this particularly serious case. The investigation notably targeted a café manager, acting as an intermediary for drug traffickers, whose phone was full of images of weapons. During the first trial, the rapper’s main accomplice received ten years in prison, while the rest of the gang received sentences ranging up to suspended prison time. Before the judges, the rapper’s small army must answer extremely serious charges such as "forming a criminal organization," "attempted voluntary manslaughter," and "attempted kidnapping and unlawful confinement."
