French Rapper Maes Cancels Paris Concert Amid Legal Troubles

Rapper Maes has been forced to cancel his concert scheduled for December 19 at the Accor Arena in Paris due to an arrest warrant issued by the Paris Criminal Court against him.
Rapper Maes will not perform at the Accor Arena in Paris. He has once again postponed his concert, this time indefinitely. Initially scheduled for December 2, the show had been postponed to December 19 before being canceled again. "Sorry team... Refund of tickets tomorrow at 2pm," Maes specified on X, announcing the news to his fans. A post accompanied by two emojis "police" and "siren". A way to implicitly indicate that he risks arrest.
Absent from his trial last June, Walid Georgey, alias Maes, had been sentenced to 10 months in prison and a fine of 10,000 euros for, with a group of friends, beating up an individual as he was leaving a recording studio in the 19th arrondissement of Paris in 2018. The Paris Criminal Court had also issued an arrest warrant against him. These are the reasons behind the cancellation of the concert.
In a letter, lawyer Diane de Condé explained to her client, who now lives in Dubai, that once he arrives in France, "police officers will be responsible for notifying you of your arrest warrant, implying its subsequent execution in the context of the execution of your sentence in prison," reports Ouest France.
The performer of "Billet vert" has also decided to cancel his appearance on December 7 at the Swiss festival The Beat, in Lausanne, we learn from the rapper’s entourage.
