Ramadan 2026 Belgium: Fasting Begins Thursday 19 February
The Muslim Executive of Belgium (EMB) has officially announced that the holy month of Ramadan will begin on Thursday 19 February 2026. This decision was confirmed following the meeting of the Council of Theologians held this Tuesday.
The representative body used the announcement to extend its best wishes to the country’s entire Muslim community. In a global context marked by recent natural and humanitarian disasters, the EMB is calling on the faithful to dedicate this month of fasting to solidarity, patience and wisdom toward people in distress.

The institution’s president, Mehmet Üstün, is urging Muslim citizens to increase their prayers for the sick, the deceased and bereaved families.
