The official observation for Ramadan 1447 AH will take place across the kingdom on Wednesday evening. According to the International Astronomy Center, Morocco is among the geographical areas most favorable for seeing the new moon with the naked eye that evening. Its director had also formally ruled out any possibility of observation on Tuesday, due to the moon and sun setting simultaneously.

If scientific forecasts are confirmed, Moroccans will begin this holy month with a daily abstinence period of approximately 13 hours and 55 minutes. This duration is directly explained by variations in latitude across the region.

Because of its position at the northernmost edge of the Arab world, Morocco logically records one of the longest fasting durations in the region. Conversely, countries located farther south will experience progressively and significantly shorter days of abstinence throughout the month.
