Ramadan 2024 in France to Begin March 11, Muslim Council Announces

Based on astronomical calculations, the Muslim Theological Council of France (CTMF) has announced the start and end dates of the holy month of Ramadan 2024, as well as that of Eid al-Fitr.
When does Ramadan begin in France? The Muslim Theological Council of France (CTMF) has announced the first day of the month of Ramadan as Monday, March 11, 2024. "Given the most accurate scientific data, as regards the month of Ramadan, namely the conjunction (new moon) which will take place, God willing, on Sunday, March 10, 2024 at 9:01 GMT (10:01: Paris time) and the conditions necessary for the visual observation of the new crescent of Ramadan in the world which will be met, God willing, on the same day, Sunday, March 10, from 10:15 pm GMT (11:15 pm: Paris time), the first day of the month of Ramadan will correspond, God willing, to Monday, March 11, 2024," the theological body said in a statement.
The CTMF also announced the date of Eid al-Fitr (first day of the month of Shawwal 1445), marking the end of the fasting month, on Wednesday, April 10, 2024. "The conjunction (new moon) will take place, God willing, on Monday, April 8, 2024 at 6:21 pm GMT (8:21 pm: Paris time)," it specifies. It will add: "the conditions necessary for the visual observation of the new crescent of Shawwal in the world will be met, God willing, the next day, Tuesday, April 9, from 7:58 am GMT (9:58 am: Paris time)." Consequently, the month of Ramadan should last 30 days this year.
