French Muslim Council Announces Eid al-Fitr Date for 2024

Begun on March 11, the month of Ramadan is gradually coming to an end. The Muslim Theological Council of France (CTMF) announced on Saturday the date of Eid al-Fitr marking the end of the fasting period on the occasion of the start of the last decade of the holy month.
When will Muslims in France celebrate Eid al-Fitr this year? According to the Muslim Theological Council of France (CTMF). "The conjunction (new moon) will take place, inchaAllah, on Monday, April 8, 2024 at 6:21 pm GMT (8:21 pm: Paris time). [...] The necessary conditions for the visual sighting of the new crescent of Shawwal in the world will be met, inchaAllah the next day, Tuesday, April 9, from 7:58 am GMT (9:58 am: Paris time)," the CTMF said in a statement. "The first day of the month of Shawwal (Eid al-Fitr) will therefore correspond, inchaAllah, to Wednesday, April 10, 2024."
The Muslim organization also announced that the Zakat Al Fitr, the obligatory alms for each Muslim family intended for the poor regardless of religion, is set this year at 9 euros per person.
