French Muslim Council Announces Ramadan 2025 Dates

The Muslim Theological Council of France (CTMF) has announced the start and end dates of the holy month of Ramadan 2025, as well as the date of Eid al-Fitr.
When does Ramadan begin in France? Based on astronomical calculations, the Muslim Theological Council of France (CTMF) has announced the first day of the month of Ramadan as Saturday, March 1, 2025. "The conjunction (new moon) will occur, God willing, on Friday, February 28, 2025 at 00:45 GMT (01:45, Paris time). The conditions required for the observation of the new crescent of Ramadan, in the world, will be met, God willing, on the same day, from 2:43 PM GMT (3:43 PM, Paris time). Thus, the first day of the month of Ramadan will be, God willing: Saturday, March 1, 2025," the theological body said in a statement.
The CTMF also announced the date of Eid al-Fitr (first day of the month of Shawwal 1445), marking the end of the fasting month, as Sunday, March 30, 2025. "The conjunction (new moon) will occur, God willing, on Saturday, March 29, 2025 at 10:58 GMT (11:58, Paris time)," it specifies. The theological body adds: "The necessary conditions for the observation of the new crescent of Shawwal, in the world, will be met, God willing, the next day, Sunday, March 30, from 00:12 GMT (01:12, Paris time). Thus, the first day of the month of Shawwal (day of the Eid al-Fitr feast) will be, God willing, Sunday, March 30, 2025." As in 2024, the month of Ramadan should also last 30 days this year.
