New Rail Line to Boost Industry and Connectivity in Marrakech Region

The governor of the Marrakech-Safi region announced the commissioning of a regional train connecting Ben Guérir to Marrakech, to boost the potential of the Sidi Bouathmane Industrial Zone.
"The aim is to open up the province of Rhamna," explained Aziz Bouignane, governor of this province, during the launch ceremony of the call for projects.
According to the local official, this railway line will stop at Sidi Bouathmane and will eventually help to streamline the flow of workers from the industrial zone located 35 kilometers from Marrakech.
An additional logistical asset, which will densify the regional rail network, and thus partially remedy the weakness of the transport offer for passengers, he noted.
