Rabat Rises: Morocco’s Hidden Gem Emerges as Top Global Travel Trend
A Moroccan city is ranked among the 10 trendiest destinations that should be a big hit in 2026.
The flight search engine Skyscanner has conducted a study and revealed its top 10 trendiest destinations that should be a big hit in 2026. It emerges that Rabat (Morocco) is in 5th place. The Moroccan capital has seen an 87% increase in searches. It is followed by the Icelandic city of Akureyri (83%). With a 211% increase in searches, Salerno tops the ranking. This Italian city is often considered a more affordable alternative to the Amalfi Coast.
Koror, in Palau, ranks second, with a 156% increase in searches. Kochi (Japan) takes third place (106%). Bilbao (Spain) takes fourth place with 97% of searches. Rijeka (Croatia) takes seventh place with 75% of searches. Then come Kaunas (Lithuania) with 59% of searches and St. John’s (Canada) with 58% of searches. With 56% of searches, St George’s, Grenada rounds out the podium.
