Marrakech Emerges as Top-Tier Luxury Destination for 2026
Luxury travel experts from a specialized American agency place a Moroccan city among the best destinations to travel to in 2026.
"The desire for enriching travel has never been stronger," says Zane Bohrer, vice president of OvationNetwork. "By 2026, our luxury travel advisors are seeing remarkable interest in destinations that combine discovery and distinction." These luxury travel experts have established and shared with Forbes their ranking of the six best destinations to travel to in 2026. Marrakech ranks sixth in this top list. "Nicknamed the Red City, Marrakech continues to fascinate with its blend of Old World beauty and contemporary creativity. From refined riads (traditional houses) to avant-garde art galleries, it is a city that breathes art," describe the OvationNetwork experts.
In Marrakech, the tourist can stroll through the lively markets, relax in a hammam or be enveloped by the scent of orange blossoms in the Majorelle Garden. Marrakech invites travelers to immerse themselves in its rhythm, a sensory tapestry woven with Arab, Berber and French influences. "Marrakech is a city that awakens the senses," assures Eli Vinitsky, travel advisor at OvationNetwork. It is an ideal destination for design enthusiasts, cultural explorers, gourmets and travelers in search of immersive adventures, etc.
Nikko, a city in Japan, takes first place. It is followed by Kona (Hawaii). Then comes Versailles (France). Guanacaste (Costa Rica) takes fourth place, while Antarctica takes fifth place.
