Rabat Residents Outraged as Major Swimming Pools Close for Summer Renovations

The Rabat Development and Animation Company, in charge of managing the swimming pools, announced the closure of the Hassan II and Youssoufia pools, sparking a wave of criticism from the capital’s residents.

The two pools will remain closed for 20 days for renovation work, reports Al Akhbar. The announcement of this measure has surprised many Rabat residents, regular users of these pools. They have expressed their dissatisfaction on social networks, blaming the Development and Animation Company for having chosen this high tourist season period to carry out these works.

The company could have carried out these works before or after the summer season in order to avoid any inconvenience to the clients of these two pools, estimate the residents of the capital. "The closure of the two pools during this summer period was planned, because the indoor pools are not used during the summer, the outdoor pools being preferred," explained a member of the company’s board of directors.
