Seaside Resort Near Rabat Plagued by Nightly Urban Rodeos, Residents Disturbed

The residents of Harhoura, a seaside resort south of Rabat, complain about the almost daily nocturnal urban rodeos that disrupt their peace.
Many Harhoura residents say they are exasperated by the noise nuisance caused by these almost daily nocturnal urban rodeos during this summer season, reports Le360. Also called motorized rodeo or asphalt cross, the urban rodeo is carried out with quads or scooters.
Drivers of these two-wheeled vehicles gather every evening on the public road, mainly on the Mustapha Essayeh boulevard, to carry out these rodeos between 10:30 pm and midnight, disturbing the peace of the residents, especially children, the elderly and the sick.
In recent days, the phenomenon has escalated with the participation of cars in these nocturnal rodeos, say residents of the area who can no longer stand these noise nuisances. The residents call on the Royal Gendarmerie to multiply patrols in order to put an end to these urban rodeos that disrupt public order.
