New Rabat Railway Station to Be Built for 2025 Africa Cup of Nations

The National Railway Office (ONCF) has just awarded the construction of the Hay Riad railway station in Rabat to the Société Générale des Travaux du Maroc (SGTM). The infrastructure should be delivered before the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, organized by Morocco.
The ONCF awarded this contract to SGTM following a tendering process. The new Hay Riad station, which will take the form of a bridge station, will connect Annakhil Avenue to Hassan II Avenue and serve the Moulay Abdellah sports complex.
The future Rabat railway station will consist of two blocks with a total ground floor area of 4,500 m², a 200 m² mezzanine, and a floor occupying an area of 2,300 m².
The project includes the development of platforms and outdoor spaces (green spaces, intermodal spaces, etc.), as well as the construction of two underground parking lots, with a passage under the railway tracks leading to Annakhil and Hassan II Avenues.
Costing 183 million dirhams, the Hay Riad station should be completed and put into service before the 2025 CAN organized by Morocco.
