Morocco Begins Construction of $18 Million High-Speed Rail Station in Rabat for 2025 Africa Cup

The National Railway Office (ONCF) is preparing to launch the construction work of the Hay Riad district station in Rabat, in preparation for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations Morocco.
The construction of this new station should cost 180 million dirhams and last ten months, indicates the call for tenders launched by the ONCF. The infrastructure should be operational for the CAN 2025 organized by Morocco, reports Médias24.
The future Hay Riad district station in Rabat will be built in the form of a "bridge-building, crossing the railway tracks connecting the two banks: on the Avenue Annakhil side and on the Avenue Hassan II side," the Office detailed in a press release.
The new station will have on the ground floor, two building blocks on each side of the two banks, a mezzanine on the Avenue Annakhil side, two underground car parks on each side of the banks connected by a passage under the railway track, as well as platforms and landscaped spaces.
