Rabat Police Officer Arrested for Alleged Theft from Local Stores
A police officer on duty in [Rabat] is currently the subject of an investigation for his alleged involvement in a theft case.
The prefectural judicial police service in Rabat opened this investigation following two complaints filed by shop owners, who reported that a man in uniform had obtained goods and merchandise without their consent in clothing and cosmetic stores.
The descriptions and other information provided by the complainants made it possible to identify the police officer and to proceed with his arrest, indicates a press release from the [General Directorate of National Security (DGSN)].
The police officer was placed in custody for the preliminary investigation, which will have to elucidate the circumstances of this case. As for the DGSN, it is awaiting the end of the judicial investigation to take the administrative and disciplinary measures provided for in the fundamental status of national security officials, the statement concludes.
