Rabat Police Bust Car Theft Ring: Four Arrested in Sophisticated Scheme

Four individuals with criminal records and very active in car theft were arrested by elements of the prefectural judicial police service in Rabat.
The General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) specified in a press release that the two suspects stole cars using fake keys, changed their external appearance and falsified the chassis serial numbers. Later, relying on the help of accomplices who provided them with forged administrative documents, at used car markets in Salé, the suspects managed to put these vehicles into circulation.
During the searches carried out inside a rented car and premises operated by the suspects, the elements of the prefectural judicial police service in Rabat seized a car that was the subject of a theft report. Several other items were also seized, including keys, accessories and mechanical equipment, as well as vehicle registration and technical inspection documents of the same category targeted by the criminal gang.
Once arrested, the two suspects, aged 35 to 47, were taken into custody. Immediately, an investigation was opened, led by the competent public prosecutor’s office. It will be a matter of identifying and arresting all the people involved in this criminal activity, specifies the same source.
