Casablanca Police Arrest 3 Suspects in Violent Theft Ring, Arson Case

Three individuals, including a repeat offender, aged between 29 and 40, were apprehended by the judicial police elements of Casablanca. They would have links with a criminal network active in theft with violence and under the threat of knives.
It all started when the national security services intervened to prevent one of the suspects from committing suicide, in a coastal area of Casablanca, according to the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) in a press release. The research and investigations that followed this intervention then revealed that this individual had deliberately set fire to a car belonging to his wife, which would have been used in violent theft operations.
Further investigations allowed the police to arrest the other suspects. With the main suspect, they committed other burglary operations and under the threat of the knife. Commercial companies and cafes were their main targets. In addition to the arrest of the three suspects, the police carried out searches that allowed the seizure of two cars and a large sum of money suspected of coming from this criminal activity.
The three suspects were placed in custody pending the investigation opened to identify any accomplices in these criminal acts, concludes the DGSN.
