Rabat Police Arrest 14 for Violating COVID-19 Lockdown Measures

Elements of the Rabat police prefecture proceeded, on Wednesday morning, to the arrest of fourteen people residing in the Takaddoum neighborhood in Rabat. They are accused of violating the state of health emergency.
The accused were part of a group of people who tried to force the barriers and checkpoints set up by the local authorities around the Takaddoum neighborhood, as part of the measures taken to contain the spread of Covid-19, according to a statement from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN).
Pending the determination of the ins and outs of this case, the defendants were placed in custody, the DGSN specifies.
