The Rabat Region Development Company has launched a call for tenders for the installation of an advanced video surveillance system in the city of Rabat, integrating artificial intelligence (AI) and Deep Learning technologies.
It is planned to install a high-tech video surveillance network with cameras equipped with facial recognition and automatic license plate reading as part of this project, which is to be operational before the end of the current year.
The market has been divided into two distinct lots. The first lot concerns the development of command posts and data centers. It is planned to install two main command posts to centralize the management of the system, in addition to two autonomous data centers in line with international standards, ensuring a secure and efficient infrastructure. The second lot concerns the deployment of the video surveillance system. Several types of intelligent cameras, including facial recognition cameras, PTZ (pan-tilt-zoom) cameras and long-range cameras will be installed.
The project also includes a fiber optic network infrastructure and CAT 6A (high-performance Ethernet network cable) wiring, as well as servers equipped with AI and Deep Learning capabilities for instant analysis of video streams.
Facial recognition-integrated video surveillance systems have already been adopted by several cities, including Beijing, London, Moscow, New Delhi, Dubai and Singapore.
