Rabat’s Hidden Oasis: Ibn Sina Urban Forest Draws Locals and Tourists Alike

Located in the Souissi district, the Ibn Sina urban forest, also known as the "Hilton Forest", due to its proximity to a hotel of the same name, remains one of the most frequented places in Rabat.
The green and refreshing space offered by the forest, in the shade of its eucalyptus trees, seduces many Rbatis, reports Le 360. The first to enjoy this restful setting are the sportsmen. They come from different backgrounds and often in large numbers to walk or jog on a long 2-kilometer circuit. This tourist gem also welcomes children, thanks to its leisure areas, ping-pong tables, football pitches and several sports circuits.
Despite the coronavirus crisis, the maintenance and security within the park have always been ensured by dedicated men and women. This park, often stormed by visitors, requires tourists to leave the premises by 9:30 pm, for fear of being trapped once its gates are closed.
Under the joint supervision of the Wilaya of Rabat and the High Commission for Water and Forests and the Fight against Desertification, under the Ministry of Agriculture, this Ibn Sina urban forest has recently benefited from new redevelopment work.
