PSG Star Achraf Hakimi’s Mother Defends Son Against Rape Allegations

The mother of Moroccan PSG right-back Achraf Hakimi reacted to the rape accusations made by a 24-year-old woman against her son. This week, the player was indicted by the justice system.
Saida Mouh is convinced of Achraf Hakimi’s innocence. She assures that her son has been well-raised and that over the years he has shown the world high moral standards. The mother of the PSG star confided to the pan-Arab news site Arab New that when she questioned her son about the rape accusations, he swore to her that he was innocent. "Hakimi does not deserve what is happening to him," says Saida Mouh.
A 24-year-old woman accused the PSG right-back of raping her on February 25 at his home in Boulogne-Billancourt, in the western suburbs of Paris. According to the mother of the Moroccan international, the surveillance cameras could show whether the alleged rape actually took place.
Reacting to his indictment for rape through his lawyer, Hakimi assured that he did not rape the plaintiff. "During his hearing, carried out at his express request, Achraf Hakimi firmly denied the accusations made against him," said his lawyer Fanny Colin, in a statement sent to L’Équipe, recalling that the indictment measure that followed this hearing is a mandatory step for any person who is the subject of a rape accusation and finally offers the 24-year-old player "the opportunity to defend himself by granting him a large number of rights, first and foremost the right to access the file."
