Morocco Coach Stands by Achraf Hakimi Amid Rape Allegations

The list of supporters for Moroccan right-back Achraf Hakimi, indicted in France for aggravated rape of a 24-year-old woman, is expanding. The latest supporter to date is the coach of the Moroccan national team, Walid Regragui.
"Achraf is serene, we are with him, and then there is the presumption of innocence that must be respected, but we are with him and we support him," declared the coach of the Moroccan national team when questioned about the situation of the Moroccan right-back during his press conference on Monday devoted to the announcement of the list of Atlas Lions selected for the friendly matches in March. "[...] I told Achraf to think about football first, the designated persons will take care of the other affairs."
"It will do him good to return to the country and feel the support of the Moroccans. What I can say is that Achraf Hakimi is a strong man, on the field and off the field," he added.
