PSG’s Achraf Hakimi Flourishes Under New Coach Galtier’s System

The Moroccan international of PSG, Achraf Hakimi spoke about the beginnings of his new coach Christophe Galtier. An opportunity to recall his new challenges and his importance in the new system set up by the French technician.
In an interview with the club’s official website, the Moroccan right-back returned to his first season in the French capital, marked by good performances in his position, but also a drop in level during the last matches.
Under the leadership of the new coach, Christophe Galtier, the player seems to have regained his level. He has already stood out in the first day by scoring a goal against Clermont and another against Lille. Explaining this transformation, Hakimi indicated that with the new system, he has more offensive freedom, unlike last season, where he was much more limited in his defensive responsibilities.
Prepared to play both defensive and offensive roles, the 23-year-old player pointed out that Galtier’s method gives him the opportunity to score or provide assists. "This year, I’ve had more opportunities to do so. Thanks to the system, I have more opportunities, because I’m placed much higher and above all, I have more confidence in myself," he said. And to add: "I feel very good with my teammates and I try to take advantage of the opportunities I have. I hope other goals will come."
Moreover, the Moroccan did not spare his praises for the French technician. "You can very well see how he is on match days, on the sidelines. But apart from that, he’s a funny person, who knows how to joke with the players, who is close to them, who tries to give them affection. And it’s true that we can feel it, and it gives us confidence during the matches," he stressed.
