PSG’s Hakimi Downplays Messi Pass Decision in Narrow Win Over Brest

Achraf Hakimi doesn’t hold it against Lionel Messi who could have given him a decisive pass to score the winning goal against Stade Brest. The Moroccan right-back of Paris Saint-Germain was well positioned, but the Argentine preferred to pass the ball to Neymar.
"If I asked for the ball and Léo didn’t give it to me, it’s because he saw that there was another player he could pass it to," said Achraf Hakimi to the press. The Moroccan respects the Argentine’s choice and is not offended by it. "It’s not a problem. He passed it to Neymar and we took the three points," he added.
With this victory over Stade Brest (1-0), PSG joins Olympique de Marseille at the top of the French Ligue 1 standings, with 19 points. The Moroccan right-back enjoys the confidence of coach Christophe Galtier who has started him in all the matches.
The Atlas Lion is also preparing for the World Cup in Qatar. Morocco is in Group F with Croatia, Belgium and Canada. They will face Croatia on November 23 for their first match of the competition.
