PSG’s Hakimi Struggles in Bayern Defeat, Coach Cites World Cup Fatigue

Starter against Bayern Munich, Achraf Hakimi did not shine as usual. The tenacity of the right-back did not work against the ardor of Kingsley Coman. The PSG coach, Christophe Galtier, believes that the Moroccan player has not yet recovered from the fatigue accumulated during the World Cup in Qatar.
PSG lost 1-0 to Bayern Munich on Tuesday night. While he had regained a very good level in recent weeks, Achraf Hakimi had difficulties holding the left side of the Parisian defense. He was unable to make a difference, and was even replaced at the start of the second half, reports Top Mercato.
But for his coach Christophe Galtier, the Atlas Lion is going through a bad patch. "Achraf played a lot during the World Cup, with pains. We tried to manage it as best we could on his return. He is affected in the hamstrings well before the match against Monaco. So it’s a bit difficult for him to be as efficient with this muscle discomfort. I don’t know if there is a lesion, nor its duration of unavailability," he explained a few minutes after the end of the match.
