Pregnant Moroccan Woman Files Complaint Against French Husband for Domestic Violence

A young pregnant Moroccan woman has suffered domestic violence from her French husband with whom she lives in Villeneuve-d’Ascq, in northern France. Exasperated, she had to file a complaint against him.

Perceval Lebas, the lawyer for the young woman, summarizes the marital novel of his client: "In August 2019, marriage in Morocco. March 2020, arrival in France. May 2020, filing of a complaint..." H. C., the husband of the Moroccan woman, is a repeat offender of domestic violence. "Three women claim to have suffered your violence," says President Audrey Bailleul, in a brief summary of a chaotic intimate life, as reported in the newspaper La Voix du nord.

"I can’t control myself," admits this father of two older children. "But I don’t wake up once the act is done..." With his Moroccan partner, this plant operator would have used a broom to strangle her. "You hit your wife because she asks you to smoke on the balcony," the judge continues.

The suspect tries to justify his act. "I got carried away. I was told she was there for the papers...", he says. The young Moroccan’s documents remain under lock and key, the newspaper specifies. Her husband flares up: "If I want to, I’ll send you back to Morocco!", or even: "My wife, she’s Moroccan. She’ll always come back..."

The judge sentences him to six months in prison with immediate incarceration and no possible return to his home.
