EU Praises Morocco’s King for Crucial Role in Libyan Peace Process

Morocco’s contribution to the resolution of the Libyan crisis has been welcomed by the European community. The president of the European delegation for relations with the countries of the Maghreb and the Arab Maghreb Union, Andrea Cozzolino, thanked the kingdom, in particular King Mohammed VI, for the essential role played in this process.
"We, as the European Union, support this process in which we now find the founding spirit of Skhirat. I express our sincere thanks, in particular, to King Mohammed VI," said Andrea Cozzolino, in an interview with the Al Jazeera satellite television channel on the Libyan issue.
According to Al Ahdath Al Maghribia, the resolution of this crisis took place in Morocco, a land of peace, stability and reconciliation. During the meetings between the Libyan partners, the delegations of the High Council of State and the Tobruk Parliament, Morocco has always shown neutrality and impartiality.
The newspaper recalls that after several round tables organized in different African and European countries, only the Moroccan approach is the one that has been able to bring the positions of the delegations of the Libyan High Council of State and the Tobruk Parliament closer together and converge. "For us, Libya is not just a diplomatic issue. Our stability and security depend on the situation in Libya," Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita had said in July 2020 before the UN Security Council.
