US Praises Morocco’s COVID-19 Aid to African Nations, Pledges Continued Partnership

Following the shipment of medical aid to 15 countries in sub-Saharan Africa, the United States on Monday, June 15, 2020, hailed Morocco’s leadership and King Mohammed VI in the fight against covid-19.
"We commend Morocco’s leadership in the fight against COVID-19 and welcome its support for other African countries through donations of critical personal protective equipment (PPE) and medical supplies," the U.S. Embassy in Rabat wrote on Twitter.
"The United States will continue to work closely with Morocco to address global health challenges," the U.S. diplomacy assured.
Since Sunday, Morocco is sending nearly 8 million health masks to about 15 African countries. In addition to the masks, this medical aid consists of 30,000 liters of hydroalcoholic gel and 75,000 boxes of chloroquine, according to the Moroccan Ministry of Foreign Affairs and African Cooperation in a statement.
According to the ministry, these products and equipment are manufactured in Morocco and meet the standards of the World Health Organization (WHO). Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Congo, Mauritania, Niger, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Senegal or Chad are among these 15 beneficiary countries.
