Popular Moroccan Singer Arrested for Alleged Rape of 12-Year-Old in Marrakech

Yet another rape story that is shaking the city of Marrakech, but this time the accused is a man who thought that his fame as a popular artist could put him above the law, and that he could assault a 12-year-old girl without being bothered. The daily Assabah reports that this was without counting on the courage of the young girl who informed her mother of the sexual assault she had been a victim of. She provided the necessary information to allow her mother to file a complaint for the rape of her daughter. The fifty-year-old will be arrested at his home.

According to the first information from the investigation, the pedophile would have started by practicing touching on the little girl, who tried to push him back without succeeding. Angry, he physically assaulted her, before raping her. The defendant was placed in custody for investigation under the supervision of the public prosecutor’s office, pending being confronted with his victim.

The newspaper reports that the elements of the judicial police are currently doing background work to determine if the accused had not sexually assaulted other girls, before bringing him before the Attorney General of the Court of Appeal of Marrakech. The Moroccan Association of Human Rights has filed a complaint with the Attorney General of the King, asking him to deepen the investigation into the case of the rape of the little girl and drawing his attention to the attempts of blackmail and pressure exerted on the victim’s family so that the complaint for rape be withdrawn.
