Moroccan Man Arrested for Rape and Fraud Against Mentally Vulnerable Expatriate

The judicial police of the city of Salé arrested, towards the end of last week, a 34-year-old individual for identity theft, fraud, breach of trust and rape. The victim is a 34-year-old Spanish national of Moroccan origin, who also has mental disorders.
The suspect pretended to be an official in order to ask for the hand of a rich family’s daughter in Salé. The wealthy family owns a private school. Believing that their daughter, who has mental disorders, is in good hands with such a person, this wealthy family accepted the request of the latter. He played with the girl’s feelings and raped her before disappearing into thin air, reports the daily Al Akhbar. According to the police, he exploited the naivety and especially the mental and psychological disorders of the young girl by manipulating her as he pleased.
For the short time he spent playing the fiancé, he acquired an apartment worth 900,000 dirhams, a car and other property, before fleeing without leaving a trace. It was at this point that the family realized that it had been deceived, swindled by a man without faith or law. A complaint was then filed with the Rabat public prosecutor’s office.
An investigation was initiated and led to the arrest of the usurping fiancé. The accused admitted the facts against him, even before the competent public prosecutor’s office. His trial is about to begin.
