Moroccan Teen’s Murder Solved: 20-Year-Old Arrested in Kenitra Strangling Case

The city of Kenitra is still in shock over the murder, on February 13, of a 13-year-old girl. The culprit is a 20-year-old who could have escaped any punishment, had it not been for the vigilance of the elements of the Royal Gendarmerie of Sidi Allal Tazi, who were able to detect the false from the true.
The victim, according to the daily Al Akhbar, was murdered by a 20-year-old man who lived in a slum near Mehdia, not far from Kenitra. The crime was reported by the accused’s mother, 48 hours after the fact, giving the latter time to take refuge in Sidi Allal Tazi, at his grandmother’s.
He will be dislodged by the gendarmerie from the depths of his hiding place. Riddled with questions, he did not take long to acknowledge his crime. In his statements, he admitted that his mother was his accomplice, and that she had been informed of the crime, but that she had preferred to give him time to flee, before informing the gendarmes.
Placed in detention, the accused will be prosecuted for premeditated murder, kidnapping and rape of a minor. As for his mother, whom he has designated as his accomplice, she risks a lot for not reporting the murder in time.
