Polisario Front Appeals to UN Over Morocco’s Military Action in Western Sahara

Following the military operation launched by Morocco in the Guerguerat buffer zone, Ibrahim Ghali, the Secretary General, wrote to the UN Secretary-General and the Security Council.
In this correspondence, the Sahrawi official informs Antonio Guterres and the Permanent Representative of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines to the United Nations, Rhonda King, who holds the rotating presidency of the Security Council, of the repercussions of the military operation launched by Morocco in the Guerguerat buffer zone.
"It is with great urgency and deep concern that I write to inform you that the Moroccan military forces have launched a brutal attack against unarmed Sahrawi civilians who were peacefully demonstrating in El Guerguerat."
This Friday, Morocco deployed elements of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR) in the Guerguerat buffer zone to secure the flow of goods and people. A military intervention that follows the repeated actions of the Polisario in the region.
