Police Shoot Knife-Wielding Man in Moroccan Cafe Incident

A man accused of causing damage and threatening customers of a cafe was injured on Wednesday by a policeman in Berrechid.
"The Berrechid security services were alerted through the telephone line (19) that a person, under the influence of drugs, had caused damage to two cafes and threatened a number of customers with a knife," the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) said in a statement, specifying that the "accused put up fierce resistance to the police elements, striking a policeman with a knife, which forced his colleague to fire a warning shot and a second one that injured the suspect in the knee."
Convicted in the past in cases of theft and criminal conspiracy, the accused was placed under medical supervision in the hospital pending his condition improving to be questioned.
