Police Officer Brutally Attacked While on Duty in Agadir, Morocco

A police sergeant was attacked with a bladed weapon last night while on duty on a road in the city of Agadir. The suspect struck him in the back with a blunt object.
An investigation was opened on Saturday by the judicial police of Agadir to determine the circumstances in which this attack took place, the identity of the suspect and that of a presumed accomplice. In a statement, the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) indicated that the police officer received severe blows to the back and thigh.
He was transferred to the provincial hospital to receive the necessary care. The services of the Agadir Police Headquarters and the Mohammed VI Foundation for the Social Works of the National Security Officials have been instructed to provide all necessary assistance, through the coverage of his hospitalization and medical expenses, the statement said.
