PJD Lawmaker Slams Moroccan Minister Akhannouch Over Wealth and Power Concentration

During a recent meeting in Marrakech, PJD parliamentarian Abdellah Bouanou attacked the very wealthy businessman Aziz Akhannouch, Minister of Agriculture and President of the National Rally of Independents (RNI).

A prosecution by Bouanou against Akhannouch. According to the PJD elected official, the new development model will have no meaning without a legal and political reconciliation with society and without the implementation of a policy to fight the rentier economy, reports the site Chichaoua al aan. He believes that "the one who concentrates money and power forgets the general interest." Abdellah Bouanou said that the fuel company belonging to a minister (Aziz Akhannouch) holds "the monopoly on fuel and kerosene compliance contracts for Moroccan airports."

In total, "1700 billion (cents) were pocketed by an oil company on the backs of Moroccans, and it is a certain minister who has hindered the work of the investigative commission on this subject. We will never forget the fuel file, it will remain our business," added Abdellah Bouanou. He denounces "a denial that needs to be changed."

In another register, the PJD elected official reproaches the Minister of Agriculture for not having told the truth to Moroccans about the agricultural holdings of which he is the owner. He stated that Akhannouch owns an agricultural land of more than 1000 hectares in the Boudnib area in Errachidia and another of 600 hectares near Meknes.
