Overloaded Van Causes Highway Incident Near Montpellier, Warns Moroccan Travelers

Following the bursting of the tires, the driver of an overloaded van was immobilized on the emergency lane of the A9 motorway, near Montpellier.
More fear than harm. The driver of a truck traveling towards Spain was forced to stop on the emergency lane at the level of the commune of Baillargues, near Montpellier, reports France3. And for good reason, the tires of his vehicle burst, resulting in a traffic accident. The report does not mention any injuries.
Alerted, the gendarmes of the Motorway Platoon of Poussan went to the scene. After checking the van, they found that the truck had a total weight of 8.050 tons instead of the authorized 3.5 tons.
As provided for in the texts, the driver was issued 9 fourth-class tickets at €90 each, for a total of €810. The vehicle was also immobilized, subject to it being unloaded to reach the authorized weight, details the same source.
