Moroccan Van Driver Caught with 5-Ton Overload on French Highway

The driver of a van registered in Morocco chose to drive with an overload of more than 5 tons. The police did not take long to apprehend him on the A7 motorway near Portes-lès-Valence in the Drôme region.
This incident, which occurred on the morning of Wednesday, August 28th, could have caused a serious traffic accident.
Indeed, while he was coming from Marseille and heading north in France, the driver who was driving with an overload of more than 5 tons on board a van registered in Morocco was apprehended by the gendarmes of the EDSR who proceeded to check the vehicle, reports Le Dauphiné.
He will have to face the rigors of the law: the payment of a sum of 135 euros per 500 kilo tranche of overload. As for his vehicle, it will be immobilized until it regains a normal weight, specifies the same source.
