Overloaded Belgian Van Bound for Morocco Busted: 7-Ton Vacation Haul Halted in France

A van loaded to the brim transporting Belgian tourists on their way to Morocco was intercepted by the gendarmerie elements of the Gironde region during this vacation period.
On Monday, the oversized cargo of French nationals returning from abroad (MRE) on their way to Morocco caught the attention of the gendarmerie elements of the Gironde. So many things were piled up in a Belgian-registered Mercedes Sprinter that was circulating with an impressive overload... more than 7 tons, a record on the vacation road.
This cargo exceeded the maximum threshold of 3.5 tons. The gendarmes asked the driver to unload the heaviest items and leave everything on site. The vehicle was immobilized, and the driver paid a fine of 630 €.
