Over 11,000 Moroccan Expats Return Home in First Days of Marhaba 2022 Operation

Since the launch of the Marhaba Operation on June 15, 11,096 Moroccans from Europe and 3,543 vehicles have already crossed Spain to Morocco, according to data from the Spanish Ministry of the Interior.
In detail, 7,444 Moroccans living abroad and 2,839 vehicles left Algeciras for Morocco during the first two days of the Marhaba Operation. On the Almeria side, 931 Moroccans living abroad and 373 vehicles embarked for the kingdom, compared to 2,001 Moroccans living abroad and 194 vehicles from Tarifa. The ports of Malaga and Motril (Granada) recorded 696 Moroccans living abroad and 126 vehicles, and 22 Moroccans living abroad and 11 vehicles respectively.

For Thursday alone, the second day of the Transit Operation, 2,031 Moroccans living abroad and 509 vehicles traveled from Algeciras to Ceuta and 1,834 Moroccans living abroad and 946 vehicles joined Tangier from the same city. From Almeria to Nador, there are already 214 Moroccans living abroad and 115 vehicles, compared to 84 vehicles from Tarifa to Tangier, 64 from Almería to Melilla and 2 from Motril to Nador.
