Ouarzazate Tourism Soars: French Visitors Lead 14% Surge in Morocco’s Hollywood

The Ouarzazate region has seen a strong increase in the number of tourists during the first 10 months of the year with 250,846 arrivals, compared to 219,920 during the same period in 2017.
The French are in the lead in arrivals with 32,417 tourists, compared to 25,157 last year, an increase of 29%. The Chinese occupy the second position with 25,011 since the beginning of the year, compared to 17,005 visitors in 2017, surpassing the Spanish tourists whose number of arrivals reached 22,460 in 2018, an increase of 8%.
All other international markets are in the green, with 57% growth for Italy, +46% for the United States, +24% for Germany, +21% for the Netherlands and +18% for Japan. The number of overnight stays is also on the rise with 45,246 for the French (+17%) and 31,370 for the Spanish (9.14%).
