Morocco Sees 15% Surge in Foreign Tourist Arrivals, 8.5% Overall Growth in 2018

The tourism sector in Morocco continues to be in the green with a strong increase in the number of foreign tourists during the first eleven months of 2018.
Thus, according to figures released by the Tourism Observatory, 11.3 million tourists visited the kingdom between January and November, an increase of 8.5% compared to 2017. Arrivals of foreign tourists are up 15% and Moroccans of the world by 2%.
In detail, arrivals from Italy increased by 15%, from Germany 8%, from France 8%, from Spain 6%, according to the note on tourism statistics in Morocco for the month of November 2018.
Once again, the cities of Marrakech and Agadir account for, by far, the majority of arrivals, with 60% of the total number of tourists. The two destinations are still as popular with respective increases of 10% and 8%. It is also worth noting the good performances of Fez (17%), Rabat (10%) and Tangier, also 10%.
