Official: Tesla establishes itself in Morocco
The American manufacturer Tesla announced on Friday the launch of its commercial operations in Morocco, marking its first direct establishment in Africa with the opening of a site in Casablanca and the start of online sales as early as February.
Tesla is taking a historic step in its international expansion by officially entering the Moroccan market this Friday, January 30. This establishment constitutes the first direct commercial foothold of the automobile manufacturer led by Elon Musk on the African continent, relying on a charging infrastructure already partially deployed in the country.
As of Friday, February 6, Moroccans will be able to order their vehicles via a dedicated online configurator. Simultaneously, the brand will inaugurate its first physical sales point, a "Pop-Up Store" located at the Anfaplace Mall in Casablanca. This space will allow future customers to discover the flagship models of the range, in particular the Model 3 and the Model Y, the best-selling in the world.
Although direct marketing is unprecedented, Tesla already has a logistics base in the Kingdom. Twenty-four Supercharger stations are currently operational 24/7 in strategic cities such as Agadir, Casablanca, Fez, Marrakech, Rabat and Tangier. The manufacturer has confirmed its intention to expand this network to support the growth of national electric mobility.
