Tesla Launches Moroccan Subsidiary, Bringing Electric Cars to North Africa

Tesla Morocco, the Moroccan subsidiary of the American giant Tesla, has officially opened its doors in Casablanca.
On May 27, Tesla International B.V. and Tesla Motors Netherlands B.V. created Tesla Morocco, a limited liability company (SARL) with a share capital of 27.5 million dirhams, divided into 275,274 shares of 100 dirhams each. The Moroccan subsidiary of Tesla is housed in the prestigious Crystal Tower, in the heart of the Casablanca Marina, reports Medias24.
Tesla Morocco will conduct its activities in three main areas. The first concerns automobiles, particularly the import, distribution, sale, maintenance, and repair of electric vehicles, as well as providing replacement vehicles.
The second is related to the energy sector. According to its corporate purpose, Tesla’s Moroccan subsidiary can "develop, own, operate, [...] install and commission stationary energy storage systems," as well as "energy production systems," particularly "solar panels" and other solar conversion technologies.
The third area relates to infrastructure and services. In this context, Tesla Morocco will "deploy electric vehicle chargers" to create a charging network. The company could also venture into "network service sales" and "electricity sales." It will be led by Spaniard Rafael Arqueza Martin and American Shahin Oliver Khorshidpanah.
