Nurse Arrested for Sexual Harassment in Marrakech Hospital Emergency Room

In Marrakech, hospital assaults are numerous. The latest one dates back to this week. Admitted to the emergency room at the M’Hamid district hospital, a patient was the victim of sexual harassment. Her aggressor was arrested.
An investigation into a case of sexual harassment that took place in the emergency department of the hospital located in the M’Hamid district has been conducted since Tuesday by the judicial police of the regional security of Marrakech. The perpetrator is a former intern of the hospital establishment who attended a local school that trains caregivers. Admitted to the hospital following a malaise, a patient was examined by a local nurse. The abnormal behavior of the latter raises suspicions, his hands being far too wandering, reports Assabah. The woman cries for help. The hospital staff and security guards rush to the hospital room. On their arrival, they prevent the aggressor from fleeing before calling the hospital director. She arrives on the scene with her deputies. She in turn reports the assault. The police arrive on the scene and arrest the aggressor. Currently, the investigators are continuing their investigations to determine if this 25-year-old man is involved in other similar sexual assaults committed in health facilities in Marrakech.
Last week, a woman doctor was violently assaulted in the same M’Hamid hospital by the two companions of a patient, which required her hospitalization. Her attackers were, they, arrested by the police. The latter will have to draw up the reports after having viewed the surveillance cameras of the hospital.
The regional office of the National Health Association condemned these various assaults, before demanding a stronger presence, in health facilities, of agents, but also of security forces. In order to put an end to these sexual assaults, a joint commission composed of the director of the Marrakech regional hospital and senior local health officials has been set up and is looking into the matter.
