Gas Explosion at Moroccan Wedding Injures 12 Near Marrakech

The emergency department of El Razi Hospital in Marrakech was on high alert on Saturday to receive the victims of a fire that broke out during a wedding ceremony in the province of Chichaoua.
According to information gathered by Kech24, 12 people, including 5 women, were taken to the hospital. They suffer from burns and injuries of varying degrees following the fire caused by the explosion of a large gas bottle in the middle of the wedding celebration in Douar Igherm.
The victims, 7 men and 5 women, were in the room where the meal for the wedding guests was being prepared when a butane gas leak caused the fire and its rapid spread.
The exact circumstances of the accident are the subject of an investigation by the competent authorities. The health condition of the injured is considered serious by the first responders.
