Doctor Assaulted by Patient’s Son in Moroccan Hospital Emergency Room

A violent assault occurred on Friday night to Saturday at the Inezgane hospital, in the Agadir region. The victim is once again a doctor.
According to the testimonies collected by Alyaoum24, Dr. Karim H., on duty in the emergency room, was attacked by the companion of a patient. The aggressor, the son of a patient also present in the service, struck the doctor several times, causing bruises and complications to the face and jaw. The police, informed of the incident, proceeded to arrest the aggressor.
Unfortunately, this case of aggression is not isolated, recalls the same source, which mentions numerous attacks on medical personnel in recent years in Morocco. Thus, a nurse had been assaulted by a policeman, who had slapped her in her office. The victim had filed a complaint, leading to the arrest of the aggressor by the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN).
Another incident occurred the same year in the same service, where two young men in an advanced state of drunkenness had assaulted a nurse and threatened him with death. The altercation broke out after the nurse refused to suture a serious injury requiring specialized surgical intervention.
